Where To Stay In Jimbaran: Best Hotels + Locations | Almost Landing

Jimbaran is often misrepresented as an area with big resorts and not much else. Although there are some amazing hotels in Jimbaran, it really is so much more than this. The community itself is full of life. You may see traditional Balinese ceremonies in the streets, small local temples, traditional markets, and seafood markets. Although Jimbaran has some delicious eating experiences, it doesn’t have the number of restaurants that are in Seminyak and Canggu. But if you want some stunning hotel options, a local community, easy short trips to Uluwatu and beautiful beaches, then Jimbaran might just be the place for you. So where to stay in Jimbaran? Here’s our Jimbaran accommodation guide to help you choose.

Where To Stay In Jimbaran? Best Locations.

Where To Stay In Jimbaran Map

Jimbaran runs along the southern coast of Bali and continues a little further inland. It is situated about 20 minutes drive (depending on the traffic) south of Ngurah Rai International Airport.

The closer you can stay to the beach, the better, as most things in Jimbaran are centred around the main road and the beach.

The other thing to consider is what end/section of Jimbaran beach to stay in. The different areas have a different feel and are also closer/farther away from certain things.

The south end of the beach is my personal favourite. It’s a nice area of the beach, has my favourite seafood restaurants on the beach, a beautiful outlook over the peninsula, and isn’t too far from some nice restaurants.

The middle section of the beach has a more local feel, also close to some great restaurants and the traditional market.

The north section of the beach is close to the seafood market, and just south of the airport. Personally, I think this area is probably a little bit too far away from most other things in Jimbaran and has a less relaxing feel about it.

The only other thing to look out for when booking accommodation in Jimbaran, is how far inland the accommodation is. The charm of Jimbaran really is around the beach areas, so although accommodation much further inland can be classified as Jimbaran, I’d tend to stick to areas near the beach and main road (Jl. Raya Uluwatu).

How Many Days Do You Need?

We recommend spending at least 2 – 4 nights in Jimbaran, but you could also easily spend one week here if you wanted to relax, especially if you were staying in one of the luxury resorts.

There’s not a long list of things to do in Jimbaran, so two nights would be just enough to get a taste of the area.

With four nights, you could have some time to relax, visit the seafood market, go to the beach, experience the traditional market, enjoy a seafood dinner on the beach and more.

Jimbaran Bay is also actually a good base to experience some other areas of Bali. Uluwatu is just next door, and home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Bali. If you plan to spend a few days in Uluwatu with Jimbaran as your base, we would recommend a one-week stay.
