Row for ROLE: Join This Charity Canoe Race from Sanur to Nusa Dua!

Taking place on Saturday, 27 April May 2024, Row for ROLE: Hyatt 2 Hyatt is a community initiative raising funds for Bali’s long-established ROLE Foundation. Sports lovers are invited to join an epic canoe / kayak race from Sanur to Nusa Dua, journeying around Bali’s coastline for a good cause.

About ROLE Foundation

The ROLE Foundation (standing for Rivers, Oceans, Lands and Ecology) works to develop sustainable practices and solutions though their Zero Waste to Oceans Center in Nusa Dua, where education programs with local councils and schools, environmental group gatherings, soap up-cycling programs, women’s weaving business development, beach cleaning and more take place.

The other leg of ROLE focuses on women’s empowerment. BaliWISE (the program which Row for ROLE will be raising funds for) stands for Women of Indonesia Skills Education. It focuses on educating marginalised women in Bali, giving them important knowledge skills that vastly improves their employability. This is done with the understanding that giving women the opportunity to be breadwinners in their families helps to break a cycle of poverty. The two programmes are run by Fena Evans and team, who work to improve both social and environmental challenges faced in Bali.

Rowing for the Right Reasons

The event on Saturday, 27 April 2024 will be the third iteration of Row for ROLE: Hyatt 2 Hyatt, co-organised by Right Reasons Funding.

The epic Sanur to Nusa Dua journey goes from one Hyatt property to another: starting at the calm shores in front of Hyatt Regency Bali, Sanur, to the white sands of Nusa Dua in front of Grand Hyatt Bali. It’s a challenging and exhilarating 13km journey, which will take you past Serangan Island and the Benoa Harbour.

This community initiative is calling for people to join this year’s long-distance canoe race up the stunning south-east coast of Bali – no mean feat by any regard, but a chance to take on a real challenge and raise money for a good cause here in Bali.

Of course, there are winners: Fastest Male, Fastest Female, Fastest Grom and Biggest Fundraiser. So for those with a competitive streak, this is certainly a great outlet. In 2023, the second Row for ROLE event raised Mutual community efforts helped raise IDR for ROLE’s BaliWISE program, with 79 participants taking part!
